My boyfriend at the time (70's) played this album when we were tripping.......my 1st purple dot.....I was taken on a weird and wonderful journey.....a very colourful journey ....felt like through space and time . A masterpiece

Imagine the moment in time July 5 ,1969 at Hyde Park Festival in London. Great Rolling Stones giving concert in Hyde Park in memory of late Brian Jones. A half a million people attended this outdoor concert, which was headlined by the Rolling Stones. King Crimson ,unknown band without any recorded music were the opening act. King Crimson nearly stole the show, playing songs from their forthcoming landmark album In the Court of the Crimson King In his diary, Fripp noted: "Standing ovation. Mammoth success, of importance which will take time to appreciate. We’ll look back to see this day in years to come and fully realise its significance." I envy everybody who was at the concert.

Listened to this when it came out. Shared it to so many people. But about 15 years ago I played it for my new next door neighbor. We religiously played this on my front porch with smoke and beers. He passed away at a young age .Early 50’s. Brain cancer. I still keep up the tradition.

My brother Charlie worked in a paper mill and when he came home late on a back shift he would play various groups and this is one album i still get goosebumps listening to from the 70’s Cheers Che💙

I listened to this vinyl album, in 1969, when I was a senior in high school. I took it with me (along with many others), to my freshman dorm (to decorate my wall, in my room), at the University of Pennsylvania, in the fall of 1970. Along the way, I've owned, or listened to, many King Crimson albums since. I particularly enjoyed one of their live concerts, at some beat-up old theater, in Asbury Park, in 1973, with Wetton, Bruford, Fripp, and 2 others, from which another vinyl was made, of their live performance. The song "Exiles" was really good in that concert, and on that recording of it (and, at one point, I thought I heard myself, yelling in the background, in the audience--ha ha ha ha ha). They had so many good songs, and so much good work, over the years. This early use of the mellotron, in this, their first album, was stunning, at the time. And of course, who is singing this song? None other than Greg Lake, himself, of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, a group he was in, that was formed about a year later--and was even more spectacular and well-known than King Crimson. But, I loved King Crimson, just as much. They were good, and an epitomy, of our music, in the late 1960's, and early 1970's...

Robert Fripp one of the most under appreciated guitar players ever. He's a top 5 best guitar player in my opinion
